What do Residents think?
If you’ve explored our website, hopefully you’ve seen that we think Links View is special. Not only are the facilities marvellous but the staff are wonderful. Everything about the place is designed to keep you independent and happy well into older age.
But the best way to really get a feel for a place is to speak to the people who live there. Since you’re not easily able to do that, we’ve gathered together some testimonials from residents and their relatives.
What do residents think to life at Links View?
Mrs & Mrs Garside
Having lost my husband I decided to move to an apartment where I would feel safe and looked after, and after having a 3 course lunch made for you in the dining room I found this in Links View.
It’s a beautiful place, very clean and furnished to a high standard. There is a cinema room, hobby room, computer room, a gym, relaxing room, and also a shop and hairdressers.
It’s the best move I ever made, and I find all the residents very sociable with a good sense of humour. All the staff are very helpful and caring and they have so much respect for their residents which you don’t find in a lot of places. Most of us enjoy a game of bingo, dominoes, whist and quizzes and Links View has all that.
This is not a home but independent living and I must say I am so happy here. We all enjoy having a good chat and laughter. It’s just wonderful and I love it very much.
Links View is special and different. It really is ‘independence with care’.
We rent our quality apartment and we have a kitchen, wet room and own letterbox. We have a restaurant and a 24 hour Duty Manager, handymen, carers and cleaners if we need them.
There is a cinema room, hobby room and library. Residents arrange most of the activities such as whist, dominoes and quizzes, exercise and painting. We come and go as we please.
I have enjoyed five years at Links View with many friendships, mutual caring and laughter.
My mother moved into Links View in 2014. For her this was a big step, moving from her own house to an apartment, and she was naturally hesitant about making the change.
She need not have worried and very quickly realised that she had made an excellent decision.
The support and help she has received from the staff has been first rate. They are attentive, there when needed, and not intrusive. The apartments offer the opportunity for independent living, however care and assistance is available and is tailored to individual needs. There is a friendly and supportive community with plenty of social activities but also the opportunity for privacy when desired.
The restaurant serves an excellent range of food and lunch times are a great opportunity to meet and chat with the other residents.
I am an 82 year old man with degenerative spinal disc disease and am house bound. I have been at Links View for over 6 years and have adjusted well.
The big advantage is that this is not a care home but a private individual apartment with my own kitchen, lounge, bedroom, bathroom and front door. However, I don’t feel vulnerable or alone as we have care staff for those that need it and a Duty Manager on duty 24 hours a day every day.
I’ve lived in Lytham St Annes for 32 years and have seen similar retirement flats, most of which are for sale rather than rentals, which I prefer. The apartments rooms in other establishments are not nearly as big as those here in Links View.
I am very happy I moved here and do not wish to move anywhere else.
